Mavis Staples is one of the greatest voices in music, period. Whether it be gospel or whatever, her voice possesses a powerful charm that grabs anyone within listening range. This album is a beautiful tribute to the African American struggle for equality and reminds us that we still have a long way to go. This will be on a few Top 10 lists this year.
